Over the last 25+ years, Harry Leider, MD, MBA has served as a C-Suite executive for a variety of innovative healthcare companies - including multiple startups and Walgreens, a Fortune 50 retail pharmacy giant, where Harry was Chief Medical Officer and Group Vice President. He has broad experience as a senior leader in digital health, medical device, biotechnology, laboratory, payor, and retail pharmacy companies. In each role Dr. Leider drove product innovation, business growth, profitability, and built high performance teams.

Dr. Leider received his medical degree from the first medical school in the US: the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and his MBA from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. He served as a faculty member at the Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business where he taught healthcare marketing, and was a faculty member at Harvard Medical School. Harry has published over 30 articles and chapters in medical journals and books and wrote the foreword to a popular book called “The Internet of Healthy Things.” He also holds 5 patents in laboratory medicine. Harry Leider speaks to national audiences on leadership, improving the quality of medical care, healthcare marketing and population health.

Harry is Mentor at MedRock Ventures and recently launched Leider Healthcare Solutions where he provides “fractional” support to multiple innovative emerging healthcare companies – serving as their Chief Medical Officer or Chief Strategy Officer. Current startups include healthcare companies that provide remote patient monitoring services (Nsight Health), home laboratory testing (Ash Wellness), a Medtech company with a proprietary technology to diagnose dementia, and a company that has a breakthrough technology for diagnosis COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses at the “point of care” (e.g., in a pharmacy or clinic in 15 minutes)

Prior to starting his fractional CMO/CSO business Dr. Leider has served as the Chief Medical Officer of Walgreens, the CEO of a biotech company, the CMO/EVP of a company with a novel medical device for knee and hip osteoarthritis, the CMO of a biotech company in the obesity space, the CMO of a specialty lab in the pain and mental health space, and CMO of multiple payor/health plan organizations.
